Tu B’Shvat: Celebrating Nature’s Wonders at ADI Negev-Nahalat Eran

Residents of ADI Negev-Nahalat Eran enjoyed special activities in honor of Tu B’Shvat, Jewish Arbor Day, which falls out this week.

Counselors from the Lotem Organization, whose goal is to make nature accessible to people with disabilities, came to the Village and brought nature to us, using various interesting and stimulating ideas and methods.

Residents progressed from workshop to workshop, with each stand representing a different season. The stands were interactive, adaptive and exciting: one stand demonstrated the flowering process, and residents made their own field of flowers with a special corner set aside to feed the birds.

We also met Ephraim the Farmer, who taught us about the seven species related to the Land of Israel and Tu B’Shvat through an interesting and exciting demonstration.

The activity was a social event as well as a challenging educational experience, with lots of stimulation directly from nature – colors, smells, sounds, and touch!

We are grateful to Lotem for their ongoing collaboration to bring the wonders of nature to our residents through workshops and special outings. We’re already waiting for next time!

We need your support!

By donating to ADI Israel, YOU will help us meet our goal to enable each child, regardless of the severity of disability.
