Running for ADI in the Tiberias Marathon

Over 40 people came from all over the country came to run in the annual Tiberias Marathon this past Friday on behalf of ADI Negev-Nahalat Eran. Though the stormy weather and unusually frigid temperatures threatened to call off the event, the runners remained steadfast in their commitment. ADI T-shirts bearing the message โ€œRunners on Behalf of Special Peopleโ€ proudly declared their sense of mission. Thousands of participants turned out for the event and received ADI sports bracelets in appreciation for their heartwarming show of support.

Mendy Shorr of Kibbutz Tirat Zvi brought no less than 11 friends to run alongside him. Though he has never actually seen ADI Negev, this was his fourth year running on its behalf. Another runner, Sharon Deri, knows all about ADI Negev from his sister Osher Cohen, who is Culture & Recreational Coordinator at the rehabilitation village. For Sharon, his third time running achieved impressive results as he broke the record at 3 hours and 13 minutes.

Despite a recent injury to his knee, Ami Lamdan ran for the seventh time. โ€œI felt the purpose was just too important to forego. I ran slowly and carefullyโ€ฆI took my time and finished after 5 hours and 15 minutes, but finished very proudly nonetheless โ€“ for the sake of ADIโ€™s very special children!โ€

ADIโ€™s very special children can take pride in the very special people who believe in themโ€ฆ
