On Tuesday, residents of ADI Negev-Nahalat Eranโs high dependency hospital wing celebrated a very special end-of-year party.
Residents of this wing are the most highly dependent, and babies and toddlers. This year they had a particularly exciting and moving celebration.
All the residents were dressed in fancy clothes and, one by one, each of them was placed on and proceeded along the red carpet to the cheers of parents, volunteers and staff โ every single one a VIP.
Most of the toddlers walked the red carpet independently. It was amazing to see how much they had developed during the past year. Youngsters who, when they arrived at the village, had been given no chance to live, walking on their own at the party.
The event was extremely meaningful for the residents, who do not enjoy a โregularโ life due to their complex medical conditions. They are unable to participate in many of the villageโs activities, and the staff makes a special effort to provide them with as many normative experiences as possible. Being a VIP at the party empowered them greatly, giving them and their families an opportunity to feel extremely proud.
A huge thank you goes out to the National Service girls and the departmentโs volunteers, who worked day and night to make this event happen, making each and every resident feel special.
