Growing Up Together at ADI Negev-Nahalat Eran

Children at ADI Negev-Nahalat Eran’s Rehabilitation Day Center and next-door friends at the Merhavim Community Day Center played together at a pre-Shavuot party, enjoying bubbles, water and an integrative learning experience that will accompany them forever.

As part of the ongoing integrative program between the two Day Centers, periodic play periods bring the two groups together for experiential and fun activities. It is always exciting to see how children from the Merhavim Community Day Center show an innocent and candid interest in their counterparts from the ADI Negev-Nahalat Eran Rehabilitation Day Center, gradually warming up and discovering that deep down, they are all the same.

Orit Babian, nursery school teacher at the village’s rehabilitation Day Center: “This is an exceptional program. Everyone works together. From past experience, this integration helps our children become part of the community. The holiday of Shavuot commemorates the day on which we were given the Torah which commands us to love and accept every person. This is our holiday. Chag Sameach!”
