The current new reality has been extremely challenging for ALEH’s vulnerable children. Two and a half weeks ago, a caregiver and six residents had contracted COVID-19 and were rushed to local hospitals for treatment. In the days since, additional testing revealed that two more staff members and another seven ALEH residents contracted the virus. Tragically two of our residents passed away and the rest are receiving treatment at local hospitals. We pray for their quick and full recovery.
Our young committee launched today (23/4/20) an Instagram campaign (#ShakshukaSupport) to support ALEH’s emergency campaign to purchase essential protective and sanitizing gear and to help fund some of the huge expenses that have arisen.
This wonderful initiative was officially launched this morning, and had already raised about £500.
This is how it works:
#ShakshukaSupport
Cook. Donate. Nominate
Help ALEH’s severely disabled children face the COVID crisis by cooking a Shakshuka, donating £5.00 and nominating 5 more people. Together we can save lives! Also @theartisancookery will be performing and posting a Shakshuka masterclass this coming Sunday (26 April at 12:30pm) to raise funds for the children of ALEH!
