Rabbi Yaniv Hasan was hospitalized towards the end of 2022 and remained through the beginning of 2023. From the town of Sderot, 48-year-old Yaniv was in the neurological ward following surgery to remove a brain tumor which left him paralyzed on one side of the body.

Yaniv, who arrived in a wheelchair, underwent total rehabilitation and left the hospital walking unassisted on his own two feet. Following discharge, Yaniv returned to Sheba Hospital to continue oncological treatments and was subsequently referred to Ezra L’Marpeh in Sderot, his hometown, for continued outpatient rehabilitation. With the outbreak of Operation Iron Swords, Yaniv and his family were evacuated to Jerusalem. There, Yaniv was referred to the rehabilitation unit at Hadassah Hospital at Mount Scopus for further care.

Maintaining contact with the staff at ADI, Yaniv recently wrote that, “I have been to several rehabilitation centers, but have yet to find a center like yours. No place has such personal care or such beautiful and pleasant surroundings. When I was at the Kaylie Rehabilitation Medical Center, I felt that above and beyond the excellent professional care, the pleasant atmosphere contributed to my rehabilitation process, and for that, I thank you.”
