Sam Solomon Memorial Campaign

Samuel H. Solomon (“Sam”) was an exceptionally loving human being with a unique gift for creating special connections with others. He was a dedicated family man, a Rabbi, an innovative business leader and scholar, a mentor and friend to so many, a philanthropist, a Karate master and avid road cyclist.

Born and raised in the US, Sam and his wife, Meryl, decided to make Aliyah in 2010 to fulfill their Zionist aspirations. Living in Beit Zayit, Sam enjoyed riding the hills of Jerusalem, growing fruit in the land of Israel, meeting people and making new friends every day. Sam leaves behind his wife, 2 children and 15 grandchildren.

Sam had a unique passion for people and would often cry from hearing their stories. He was always available to actively listen and provide judgement-free advice, limitless support and love. Sam’s love for people knew no limits. Young and older, religious and secular, Jews as well as Christians and Muslims, poor or rich, they were all his best friends. In this vein, we have launched this special campaign to honor Sam’s memory and benefit the children of ADI Jerusalem.

For children and young adults who cannot breathe without a ventilator, the rehabilitation care options available in Israel are bleak, and they face the possibility of spending a lifetime in a hospital or geriatric center with little to no rehabilitation or inspiration.

ADI Jerusalem’s brand new Respiratory Ward is a warm and nurturing home that provides ongoing, state-of-the-art respiratory care for ventilator-reliant children and young adults from all cultural, ethnic or religious background while facilitating their integration and personalized growth and development. YOUR SUPPORT will help us transform countless lives at ADI Jerusalem’s Respiratory Ward.

You would honor Sam’s life and memory – everything he accomplished and the impact he made on others – by giving our ADI Jerusalem residents with severe disabilities the means to enjoy life and reach their own greatest potentials.
