World Cup Fever Hits ADI

ילדים בכסאות גלגלים עם כדור רגל ענק Kids in wheelchairs with giant, oversized soccer ball

In the spirit of World Cup 2022’s accessibility emphasis, ADI residents played their own game of accessible soccer on the rooftop patio of ADI Jerusalem. With decorated wheelchairs representing their favorite teams and joined by visiting officers from the Jerusalem Police Force, residents passed an oversized soccer ball back and forth and cheered when a fellow student succeeded in kicking the ball straight into the portable net to score a goal.

At ADI Negev-Nahalat Eran, residents and volunteers gathered around to watch the final game, taking special notice of FIFA’s emphasis on disability inclusion in this year’s playoff matches. Prior to the kick-off in every game, two fans from accessibility seating were invited to meet players and be part of the pre-match ceremony.

No matter what the score, when society is inclusive and accepting, everyone wins.

We need your support!
