Summer Vacation at ADI Jerusalem – A Day Trip Adjusted to Meet Special Needs

Due to the complexity of their medical issues, residents requiring full-time nursing care are unable to participate in most trips. But ADI Jerusalem’s devoted volunteers refused to take no for an answer, insisting that these youngsters deserved an outing.

And so, 18 students set out for the day, accompanied by volunteers, National Service girls, staff and a medical nurse.

First stop on the agenda was the Western Wall, followed by a visit to the Israel Aquarium. It was hard to tell who had a better time – the students themselves or the volunteers and staff who were overcome with joy to see the happiness expressed by their charges.

All in all, it was a unique experience, one that will hopefully pave the way for similar outings in the future.
