State Attorney, Shai Nitzan, Visits ADI Negev-Nahalat Eran

Residents of ADI Negev-Nahalat Eran were honored to host State Attorney Shai Nitzan and directors of his office at the village.

The visit was very moving and was a closure of sorts for the State Attorney.

20 years ago, Shai Nitzan, then a young attorney, met Yehuda Marmorstein, CEO of ADI, when he was involved in ADI Moriahโ€™s case brought to the Israeli Supreme Court regarding student transportation not subsidized by the municipality. ย Nitzanโ€™s mark on that case is still felt today, helping hundreds of families.

After a tour of the village, Mr. Nitzan summarized his visit saying, โ€œA short while ago, we met to establish the goals of the State Attorneyโ€™s office. One of the ideas that came up was the advancement of human rights and equality in Israeli society. We have an opportunity to impact this field. I am familiar with and I have seen a lot of places, but ADI Negev-Nahalat Eran is something special and altogether different. I think I am speaking for everyone present when I say that this [visit] was very emotional. Our place, that of the State Attorney, is to work to lessen discrimination, to take care of and assist the periphery in its lack of equality vis-ร -vis the center of the country.โ€
