Earlier this month, Liat, the director of the public library in Gedera, invited ADI to the library for a special activity. Bursting with excitement, 20 residents from ADIโs facility in Gedera walked with staff members and volunteers the few blocks to the library.
When the ADI residents arrived at the library, the libraryโs staff was waiting in the doorway to greet them and led them to the reADIng corner for an interactive book reADIng and puppet show. The library staff took great care to adapt the performance to our residents, who sat attentively and even participated, each according to his/her abilities. The ADI residents couldnโt stop smiling and laughing. They enjoyed the performance tremendously, but it was the sense of belonging that brought them true joy.
We are so thankful to Liat and her fantastic staff for making our ADI residents feel so welcome and included. We are also grateful to CIS Foundation for their support of Cultural and Integrative Program throughout the year, including the library outings.
