Moving Forward with the Negev Translational Lab for Rehabilitation Research

Health-related professions employees from ADI Negev-Nahalat Eran and the ADI Ofakim Vocational Center recently participated in an informative one-day conference sharing updated information on progress at the innovative Negev Translational Lab. The conference, led by Dr. Tzaki Siev-Ner, director of the Rehabilitation Hospital, featured Dr. Simona Bar Haim, head of the Translational Lab, Dr. Lior Shmuelof, head researcher and members of the lab staff.

Conference participants included medical workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, communication therapist, social workers and psychologists, all of whom take a deep interest in the new methodologies expected to result from the pioneering interdisciplinary project between ADI Negev-Nahalat Eran and Ben Gurion University dedicated to the care and advancement of people undergoing post-stroke rehabilitation.

The trailblazing process, in which ongoing rehabilitation progresses in tandem with continual research within the Translational Lab, enables patients to benefit from the newest and most advanced care available and significantly shorten the length of time required for an ultimate return to pre-stroke lifestyles.

For staff and researchers, the opportunity to incorporate theory and practice presents a golden opportunity for advancement in their particular fields of focus.
