Mourning the Sudden Loss of Amit Avrutsky

The ADI networkย  joins the Avrutsky and Almog families in mourning the sudden loss of Amit Avrutsky, nephew of ADI Negev-Nahalat Eran founder and chairman Major-General (Res.) Doron Almog and son of Mudi Avrutsky, Doron Almogโ€™s brother.

Despite being exempt from combat duty due to previous family losses (paternal uncle Eran Avrutsky fell in the Yom Kippur War and maternal uncle Refanel Muskal fell during the Second Lebanon War), 31-year-old Amit enlisted in the The Israeli Naval Commando Unit (Parallel to the legendary US Seal Team Six), in continuation of family tradition.

An avid ultra-light plane pilot and skydiver, Amit, a resident of Alphe Menashe, developed skydiving techniques for implementation in the IDFโ€™s Naval Commando Unit.ย  Amitโ€™s future plans included a free skydiving show over the ADI Negev-Nahalat Eran rehabilitation village as a show of solidarity with the village residents of whom he was particularly fond.

Amit, a resident of Alphe Menashe, was killed yesterday in an ultra-light plane accident near Mevo Beitar.

May the Avrutsky family be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem and may they know no further sorrow.
