Motorized Wheelchairs Usher in Independence Day

Israel Independence Day is still two weeks away, but Yosef and Peri have already attained a new measure of personal independence thanks to the freedom of mobility provided by their new motorized wheelchairs.

A generous contribution by caring donors enabled ADI Jerusalem to purchase two motorized wheelchairs, adapted for use by children with disabilities. Yosef activates the wheelchair by pressing his head against a control switch. Peri grasps the joystick with her right hand. Both children are on the road to autonomous mobility as they learn how to utilize their abilities and establish control over wheelchair movement.

Happy Independence Day, Yosef and Peri!
