ADI Negev-Nahalat Eran welcomed Michael Biton, Minister for Civil and Social Issues within the Ministry of Defense for a tour of the Negev’s rehabilitation village. Village chairman Major-Gen. (res.) Doron Almog and CEO Avi Wortzman accompanied the Minister throughout his visit.
As he made his way around the grounds, the Minister expressed a deep interest in the village’s educational and rehabilitative activity, and while seeing the outpatient rehabilitation center was duly impressed upon meeting with rehabilitation patients, hearing first-hand stories of incredible progress and the unique care and dedication of center staff.
The Minister viewed the village’s hydrotherapy pool, riding track and amphitheater, as well as the Neuro-Orthopedic Rehabilitation Hospital presently under construction. Upon completion, the hospital will answer the needs of thousands of Negev residents presently for whom local rehabilitative care is presently inaccessible.
Minister Biton praised the employees of ADI Negev-Nahalat Eran and their dedicated service and listened intently as he was told about the village’s history, its development over the years, its future vision and present challenges. Before departing, the Minister signed the village guest book, writing that, “a visit to ADI Negev-Nahalat Eran is an obligation for every Israeli. A special thank you for all that you do for the benefit for IDF veterans with disabilities and the residents of Yerucham and the Negev, so close to my heart.”
