Holocaust Remembrance Day – ADI Negev – Nahalat Eran

The Yom Hashoah memorial ceremony at ADI’s rehabilitative village in the Negev was especially meaningful this year, as it was attended by Timo, a German volunteer. Timo is passionate about his work at ADI, which he sees as a way of atoning for the sins of his grandparents’ generation, those complicit in the horrors carried out by the Nazis during the Holocaust: “All human beings are equal in their rights regardless of their level of ability. The greatest human test is how we treat those who are the weakest in society. That’s why I chose to work with ADI – to begin the healing process and atone for the acts against humanity perpetrated by my forefathers.”
