ADI Vaccination Festival: The Beginning of the End

“This is the first step towards a full return to normal activity, and only a matter of time until we can open our doors and welcome back visitors.”

With these words, Shlomit Grayevsky, CEO of ADI Jerusalem, welcomed Magen David Adom technicians who came to vaccinate residents and staff of ADI’s Jerusalem branch, ensuring that every person received their first round of inoculations before year’s end.

The inoculation event was celebrated in true ADI fashion, with music, balloons and treats for all, emphasizing the festive feeling of moving forward after close to one year of severe corona-based restrictions and constraints.

One day earlier, a similarly joyous atmosphere enveloped ADI Negev-Nahalat Eran as Ministry of Health and MDA technicians worked round the clock to providing the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine to all residents, staff and volunteers.

More than 1,500 members of the ADI family were vaccinated in two-days.

“It is my firm belief that the strength of the human chain is only as strong as its weakest link, which is why ADI works tirelessly to care for and empower individuals with disabilities in every way possible,” said Maj. Gen. (Res.) Doron Almog, founder and chairman of ADI Negev-Nahalat Eran, after receiving his vaccination. “Over the last several months, we’ve had to work harder than ever before to provide this empowerment while shielding our immunocompromised residents from infection. This year has been a true test of our humanity, and I believe we have emerged better people and a stronger society for protecting and nurturing our most vulnerable citizens.”
