ADI MORIAH’S CHILDREN BENEFIT FROM GIVAT WASHINGTON HYDROTHERAPY COURSE

For 13 years now, ADI Moriah in Gedera has had a close collaboration with Givat Washington College, to the great benefit of ADI’s residents. Students studying hydrotherapy at the college give treatments to ADI’s children as part of their course, which focuses on giving rehabilitative therapy in the water to people with intellectual developmental disabilities.

Last week, the president of the college, representatives of its executive administration, staff members from ADI Moriah, residents and their parents all gathered to celebrate the completion of this year’s course. Our gratitude was expressed to the college’s management for giving our children the opportunity for therapy and inclusion, enabling them to progress towards normalization and optimal quality of life. The students, in turn, expressed how meaningful their work with the children had been, speaking of how much they had learned and the deep relationships they had established. Representatives of the college’s management emphasized the importance of teaching students patience and tolerance, among the college’s guiding principles, and how work with the children advances this agenda. They also stressed the college’s deep commitment to ADI Moriah and its residents.

The year may have ended, but the memories and experiences remain, and we are all looking forward to next year….
