For close to one year, residents of northern Israel have been displaced from their homes due to ongoing Hezbollah bombing. Citizens who did not relocate endure ongoing missile alerts during all hours of the day and night. Tourist-based small businesses have lost much of their income, and other commercial enterprises have taken a financial beating, some suffering physical damage from direct-hit missiles.
ADI Jerusalem, renowned for its outstanding education and rehabilitative care of people with severe disabilities, chose to convey its support for struggling northern businesses by purchasing this yearโs staff Rosh HaShana gift packages from Galil Mountain Winery, an Israeli winery located in Kibbuty Yirโon, adjacent to the Lebanese border. The gift was warmly received by ADI staff who look forward to gracing their Rosh HaShana ย tables with the excellent wine, product of the upper Galilee.
During the past year, ADI Jerusalem has shown steadfast encouragement to residents of Israel through a series of supportive gestures including free swimming sessions for displaced mothers at ADI Jerusalemโs hydrotherapy pool, a day of volunteer farming at a besieged farm in southern Israel, manufacture and delivery of a newly crafted picnic table for returning residents of Kibbutz Beโeri and various in-house events to express solidarity and support of hostages and IDF soldiers.
