The Ministry of Health singled out ADI for YOU from among 50 organizations as recipient of the Deputy Minister’s Award for Outstanding Volunteers.
In a special ceremony, Rabbi Yaakov Litzman, Deputy Minister of Health, presented the award to ADI representatives Doron Almog, chair and founder of ADI Negev-Nahalat Eran, and Shlomit Grayevsky, General Director of ADI Jerusalem.
The Minister of Health Award conveys the Ministry’s appreciation for and encouragement of the important work of individual volunteers and organizations in health-related services by recognizing outstanding activity and unique services that make a special contribution to the advancement of health and public health services in Israel.
ADI for YOU, a free community service, works in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Affairs to provide information, support and guidance to families of people with special needs. ADI for YOU activity includes the ADI for YOU Hotline, support groups, lectures and workshops for families of people with disabilities and the distinctive Special Babysitter initiative, matching parents of children with disabilities with students of special education and health-related professions who have the knowledge, competency and motivation to babysit people with disabilities.
